NEWSLETTER 024
FEBRUARY 2008
INFORMATICS CONFERENCE SPECIAL
Welcome to our February Newsletter
Our occasional newsletters are intended to highlight areas of interest to our clients in addition to our News page on the Consult-igma Ltd website which is updated on a regular monthly basis to give an overview of our current activities.
Much of our recent effort has been directed towards planning and organising the Informatics & Data Visualisation Conference, on behalf of The Chromatographic Society, which will take place in two weeks time at the prestigious Intech Science Centre and Planetarium in Winchester on the 10th and 11th of March.
The conference will bring delegates up to date with current thinking and software developments in laboratory informatics principally linked to chromatographic applications.
The conference is sponsored by Agilent. ACD Labs, Minitab, Tessella Plc, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Waters and Varian and Consult-igma Ltd, who will all be exhibiting at the event.
As part of the programme of events delegates will be treated to a pre-opening showing of the UK’s latest digital Planetarium which will be opening to the public on 21st March.
Details of the Scientific Programme are included at the end of this newsletter.
For those interested, full abstracts for all the presentations are given on the Consult-igma Ltd website Informatics page – see web address given below.
If you wish to register for this conference, there are links to on-line registration on both the Consult-igma Ltd and Chromatographic Society Websites.

An article describing the forthcoming conference written by Ian Anderson was published under Chromatography Focus in the January Edition of International Labmate.
Please also note that The Chromatographic Society will be holding a meeting on Advances in Stationary Phases for Liquid Chromatography at the Madeiski Stadium in Reading on 21st/ 22nd May together with the Society AGM. If you are interested in attending this meeting full details and a registration link are available on the ChromSoc website events page, address as above.
CONSULT-IGMA WEBSITE
The next few months will see some small additions and changes to our website. The first of these is the addition of a daily Mostly Business cartoon by Ted Goff situated under the Photo of the Month, on the Inspiration page, which we hope you will enjoy. Life should have its lighter moments, even in consultancy!
SECOND FRIDAYS
We have recently suspended our Second Fridays, business and entrepreneurial networking group, for Romsey, Southampton and surrounding areas. We expect to relaunch later in the year, most likely May or June, when we have found a more suitable and central location to hold the monthly meetings in Romsey.
FEED BACK
We are pleased to welcome views on the consultancy services we offer and on any additional services or enhancements that you would find useful. We would appreciate you forwarding a copy of our Newsletter to any colleagues who may be interested in the activities of Consult-igma Limited.
