Scientific engagement, or brokerage on behalf of clients together with more general scientific support have become a major focus areas for Consult-igma.

Scientific engagement may be defined as the development of reciprocal scientific partnerships for the common good, between those seeking external expertise and providers - other companies or universities that have the required expertise or know how to satisfy the particular business needs.

Areas of interest where we can add value or enhancement to the search through our own expertise or experience, or through our contacts in finding experts in the field to which the search relates, adding considerable value and relevance to the search.

An example of event development were the recent highly successful International Informatics & Data Visualisation Conferences organised on behalf of the Chromatographic Society, which was held at the Intech Centre, Winchester in March 2008 and October 2004. See 'Testimonials'

Consult-igma Ltd has also set up Second Fridays, a Business & Entrepreneurial Networking Group, which meets every Second Friday in the Romsy area.

Future work will include problem solving seminars (creative solution seminars) and further analytical conferences developed for specific organisations.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

These are personal and voluntary involvements with the Royal Society of Chemistry (Local Section and Parliamentary Links Scheme) A Committee Member of the London Section of the SCI (Society of Chemical Industry). An example of work in this area was the development of the Chromatographic Society's 'informatics and Data Visualisation' seminar - see Informatics and below under 'Creative Solution Seminars
